As Deputy Staff Secretary, Peter Rundlet will put to use skills he honed while managing works by international policy experts and analysts during his time as Vice President and Managing Director for National Security and International Policy at the Center for American Progress. Most recently Peter Rundlet served as Director of Policy and Government Relations for Humanity United, an independent grantmaking organization committed to building a world in which modern-day slavery and mass atrocities no longer exist. His world travels in this capacity complemented his contributions to Humanity United’s efforts to bring together international research, policy, and public awareness and involvement in order to alleviate human suffering on a broad scale.
No stranger to the White House, Rundlet served for nearly four years in President Clinton’s administration. As a 1997 White House Fellow, he worked in the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President. The following year, he was appointed Associate Counsel to the President and was responsible for a range of policy and constitutional law issues. He also served as counsel to the 9/11 Commission.
